INNER WHEEL NEWS

        April 2009

Jacqui Butcher writes . . . With the absence of the President, who was representing us at the Inner Wheel Convention in Belfast, Hilary Corio chaired the meeting.

Katy Bucknell, our speaker for the evening, gave a video presentation on the work of the RNIB, especially with regard to talking books for the blind and the partially sighted. There are over 3000 people affected in Berkshire but only 173 are talking book users. Ages range from six to 107 years old. A cheque for £150 is being given.

Once again Tom Conlin has returned safely from his latest convoy trip to Kosovo. The next will be in October. Hilary Mear will be able to furnish information as to what might be required for this next trip.

Alice Pack had received greetings from our links with Wales and Denmark.

Our thoughts and best wishes go to Pauline Smith, June Martin, Mary Bowles and Moira Smith who we hope will soon be recovering well.
