Jacqui Butcher writes . . . This month’s meeting was preceded by the Annual General Meeting with reports on the year’s activities given by President Beryl, and subsequent reports by members of the committee.

 

Election of officers for the year 2009-2010 are as follows:

 

President – Pam Coopey

Vice-president – position vacant

Secretary – Sue Price

Treasurer – Margaret Penny

District Overseas Officer – Hilary Mear

Events Secretary – Moya Harvey

Correspondent – Moira Smith

Connections Officer – Alice Pack

The election of officers concluded the Annual General Meeting.

 

The monthly meeting then followed with President Beryl thanking all the members who helped at the recent Birthday Anniversary Lunch; this had been a great success raising a good amount, of which final details later. Jacky Sheppard was thanked for the floral table decorations. Moya Harvey and Anne Sherman were in charge of the raffle.

 

It was agreed to send £200 to the Alzheimers Society and £150 to Shelter Box.

 

The recent skittles challenge with Rotary resulted in a win for Rotary. It was a fun evening with the hope that it will be repeated next year.

 

Many invitations have been received from other clubs and are well supported by members.

 

Our thoughts and best wishes go to Pauline Smith for her incoming operation.

 

Tom Conlin’s latest convoy will leave on 3rd April; and Jane Short thanked members for their contributions which she was delivering to the warehouse.

 

Roslyn Walters had brought Easter chicks to the meeting all of which were sold. Money raised will be donated to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.

 

FUTURE PLANS

 

A Garden Party will be planned for later in the summer;

A trip to Bath Christmas Market is also a possibility;

Members agreed to hold the Christmas Lunch at Mill Ride.
