Friends Programme, October 2008

In the October Friends meeting we were very pleased to welcome Richard Day, who gave an extremely interesting talk on the Fire and Restoration of Windsor Castle. The talk and slides on the Fire and Restoration of Windsor Castle showed the aftermath of the fire and the restoration of the castle by skilled craftsmen and craftswomen to how we see Windsor Castle to-day.

For the November Friends meeting we are pleased to welcome John Woolley who will speak on his part in the crime of the century, “The Great Train Robbery in 1963”. The Witney Gazette, in a recent interview with John, said “John Woolley, who owns a staggering collection of great train robbery memorabilia, ended up a Chief Inspector, but as a young Policeman played a pivotal role in solving the great train robbery and was never praised or commended for his part in it.”

Another very interesting talk
