For the February Friend’s meeting we were very pleased
to welcome back Richard Snailham for the fifth time in the 6th year of
the Friends Program – giving a talk entitled “Retracing the Lost Trade
Routes of Ancient South American Peoples”. Richard has spoken to us
previously in the Friends program on “Walk to the base camp of Mount
Everest”, “Hidden Corners of Brittany”, “The Falklands in
Winter” and “The Blue Nile”.
![]() For the March Friends meeting on Wednesday 11th March we are very pleased to welcome back David Hawkes for the second time (previously speaking to our 5th Wednesday joint meeting in July on Turkoman Costumes and Jewellery) – giving a talk entitled "A Diplomat's Lot " - A light-hearted look at HM Diplomatic Service. A gentle, humorous and informative insight into the work of the government's representatives abroad. David will recount the many amusing incidents he and his fellow diplomats have encountered whilst serving HMG. Format for the evening 1900 - 1930 - Meet in the bar |
