Activities of our Club

As well as the weekly meetings, the Club has a busy calendar of activities; fund-raising, supporting our local community, and social events.

The Club Diary gives details of our forthcoming Club activities, open events of neighbouring clubs, and District 1090 and RIBI events, as well as other invitations we have received within the local area.

Our main fund-raising activities are:

• Our Charity Golf Day, held in the late Summer,
• Our Christmas Collection at Waitrose in Sunningdale
• Sunninghill Wheelbarrow Race on New Year's Day, in aid of Ascot Day Centre,

On the social front, our diary includes:

• Jazz evenings
• Theatre Trips
• Quiz Nights
• Guided visits to gardens, museums, stately home etc.
• Christmas Dinner,
• Weekends away, including District Conference and the President's Weekend.

During the years 2004-2009 the Club organised a very active "Friends" programme to promote membership growth.  This was the prime mover in driving membership up from the low 20's to in excess of 40.  The programme was discontinued at the end of 2009 as we believe we can now sustain membership through organic growth.  The last circular to the Friends group can be found here.

We also have a very active Inner Wheel which meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month.  As of 2010 they have their own web pages.

The Rotary Club of Ascot was awarded a Presidential Citation in 2005-6 also in 2007-8 and again in 2009-10.
