President David Marshall thanked the officers and committees who had helped to
make yet another successful year for the local Rotary Club, although charity
giving was down on the previous year, mainly due to the appalling weather and
poor turnout to the Ascot Fireworks display, one of the club’s major
fundraising activities, last November.
Nevertheless, President David described his year in office as “one of
the best years of my life”.

Incoming
President Colin thanked David for his running of the Club, and also greeted the
incoming Ascot Inner Wheel President, Pam Coopey. Colin said “I am delighted to become the new
president of our wonderful club. It’s going to be a very exciting year. We will
have a lot of fun and really enjoy ourselves, on top of all the fundraising we
do”.
