New president for Ascot Rotary

 

On the day the country acquired a new prime minister, the Rotary Club of Ascot appointed its new President for the new Rotary Year.

Within the inspiring surroundings of the Eton Boathouse at Dorney Lake, around 70 members of Rotary and their partners witnessed the retiring President Geoffrey Donovan present the chain of office to the incoming New President Ian Valentine.

Ian who joined Rotary via Ascot’s Friends programme commented that ‘ the new team of officers in the club are all relatively new so he looks forward to a lively and productive year with a range of new ideas’

At a luncheon meeting on the same day, Inner Wheel (Rotary’s partner’s club) held a similar ceremony during which the retiring President Barbara Reece passed the chain of office to the incoming President Hilary Corio
