Club of Ascot Garden Party raises £500
The first weekend in June is the traditional date for the Rotary Club of Ascot Garden Party, in aid of the Rotary Foundation charity. This year the event was held in South Ascot, with some 70 Rotarians, partners and friends in attendance. Guests included two Ambassadorial Scholars who are funded by the Rotary Foundation during their studies in Reading. Humera Aziz from Pakistan and Akihito Desaki from Japan spoke of their experiences of studying and living in England, which they would not have been able to undertake without the support of Rotary Foundation.

Thanking the speakers, Ian Valentine, Vice President of the Rotary Club of Ascot said “The scholarship programme is just one of the many aspects of Rotary Foundation humanitarian work world-wide, and the Rotary Club of Ascot is proud to participate in fundraising for this worthy cause”. The Garden Party raised approximately £500 for the Rotary Foundation.
