Another successful Children’s Concert.
The Rotary Clubs of Ascot and Wokingham were the proud sponsors of another most successful concert, this time given by children from first schools in the Windsor area, on Sunday 19th March at the Hexagon, Reading. Over 300 children took part, performing not just before their parents and friends, but also invited guests including The Worshipful the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Councillor Eric Wiles.
The show, entitled 'Rhythms of Life', depicted the four seasons - spring through winter with songs, dancing, poems, percussionists, solo performances and the whole 300 group singing. The show was linked by a newsroom style of presentation with young roving reporters carrying out interviews appropriate to the time of the year. The programme had a vitality and enthusiasm which captivated the audience composed mostly of proud parents and grandparents.
The show was developed, produced and conducted by Clive Waterman. Clive's boundless energy was reflected in the evident enjoyment of all who took part. Clive was supported by musicians on piano, bass and drums which provided a depth to the voices of the children.
Speaking at the end of the show, the Mayor expressed his enjoyment of the performance, and appreciation of the efforts put in by the children, teachers and schools working together with Clive on this project.
