Members of the Inner Wheel Club of Ascot are wives, partners or family of Rotarians or former Rotarians and are very closely associated with the Rotary Club of Ascot. Our Club has been in existence for almost 50 years, and is a member of the Association of Inner wheel Clubs. Currently we have 37members and 1 honorary member.
We meet on the fourth Wednesday evening at Mill Ride Golf Club, in Ascot, to enjoy dinner and often, a speaker or presentation.
For the fifth Wednesday in the month, the ladies are usually invited to join Ascot Rotary for dinner and a speaker.
As well as the monthly meetings, the ladies get together at regular intervals socially to work towards overseas charities.
There are usually two major fund-raising events a year, together with Inner Wheel Day in January. Other events include trips to gardens, the theatre and other venues. Members also attend and support Ascot Rotary with their social and fund raising events..
The three objects of Inner Wheel are very simple. They are to promote true friendship, encourage the ideals of personal service and to foster international understanding. Inner Wheel is a caring organisation, not only to its members, but also to others outside its circle.
Friendship is the core of all that is done and achieved by members of Inner Wheel. Wherever there is an Inner Wheel Club, no matter in which country, you are made very welcome. Friendship and fun abounds as members work together to help others less fortunate than themselves, not only in this country, but overseas.
Membership
Membership is open to the wife, female partner, widow, mother, sister or daughter of a current or former Rotarian; also to mother, sister or daughter of an Inner Wheel member, or member of Rotoract.
If you are not related to anyone in the Rotary family but would like to share in our fellowship, you can still become a member by being invited to join as an honorary member for 2 years before becoming a full member. This is due to the membership rules, but you will find that it makes no real difference to being a full member of the club as you can still participate in all the events.
The Membership cost is £40.00 per annum.
