New Chairs Arrive

The chairs were donated over 30 years ago, some donated by local residents and we were afraid that one or two of them would not meet current health and safety standards and fire regulations.  We not only had a duty of care to meet these standards but we also wanted to refresh the feeling of homeliness and welcome which the day centre is proud of.  A decision was made to have a total refurbishment of the chairs.  

Our new chairs were delivered on 4th Sept and came from a company which originally was Joynson Holland who were very helpful in advising on the specification and also gave a very generous discount to the Day Centre.  

Specification includes anti-m.r.s.a., anti – urea proof, extremely easy to clean, provides excellent support and encourages good posture whilst also looking aesthetically very pleasing.  We have 36 single chairs, 2, two-seater sofa’s and 8 bucket chairs for the members to use when playing card games.  

The members have been unified in commenting on the comfort of the new furniture and the added ambiance to the Day Centre, making it a more pleasant, cheerful and welcoming place to be!

We are confident that these will now be fit for purpose and attractive for the forthcoming 25 years!
